Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Door County

It is day 3 for us in Door County as we continue to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It did not rain yesterday but the sun only made an appearance here and there. We were eating at one of our favorite restaurants, Sister Bay Cafe, when we saw an older man running (or should I say trying to run). That in itself isn't unusual, but he was only in his swimming trunks, dripping wet, holding his clothes. It was hard for us to believe anyone would take a dip in the water on such a cold day! It was quite a sight to see. Then while we were enjoying our favorite dessert, bread pudding with warm lemon sauce (YUM!), we got a chuckle out of an older woman who got up from her table to talk to someone and then pay her bill. Her paper napkin was tucked into the waistband of her slacks. We got a kick out of watching her, happy that it wasn't us that walking around looking silly! On second thought, I guess we don't need a napkin tucked into our waistband to look silly all on our own! :-) HA! We had supper up at Gill's Rock and enjoyed not only the food but the beautiful view as we looked across to Washington Island.

Today the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day! We're off to Al Johnson's (the restaurant with the goats on the grassy roof) for Swedish pancakes and Swedish Meatballs. Afterwards we'll walk and try to walk off all the excess calories. Hope the sun is shining where you are!
