Friday, June 12th

Another beautiful day yesterday and so far today. We couldn't have asked for better weather once the rain left after Monday. Today is our last day here in Door County. Check-out time is at 11 a.m. and after we leave Bailey's Harbor, we will continue enjoying more time in the charming towns throughout the area.
Yesterday we walked and relaxed in the morning. Then we went back to Sister Bay Cafe for lunch. In the afternoon, we stopped at the the well-known store, Blue Dolphin. I've been looking for some pots for our front porch and found a set of 3 different size, matching pots. They are frost-resistant and I like the oval shape. We relaxed in the rest of the afternoon and then returned to Gill's Rock to eat supper at The Shoreline Restaurant. What a surprise when the owner/hostess came up to our table and asked if we were Susan & Paul. She then handed us an envelope. Inside was a gift certificate from Janice & Gary Lawell in celebration of our 40th anniversary. :-)
On our way home from Gill's Rock, we stopped the car at several places simply to be able to look at the beautiful views. Once back at our place in Bailey's Harbor, we did some more walking. Then, with camera in hand, I waited for a spectacular sunset. We didn't get the kind Door County is famous for, but there was a unique, less colorful one that we still were able to enjoy and capture with the camera.

When we arrive home later today, we will be anxious to see the progress with our new front porch steps. Our son-in-law Rich has been busy working on tearing down the old ones and making new ones. But for now, it is still early in the day up in Door County and time to start packing and get in a walk on the grounds of Bailey's Harbor Yacht Club before we have to check-out. It's been a wonderful week for us; hopefully it's been a wonderful week for all of you, where ever you are while reading our blog.
